The Frozen Bean develops and manufactures innovative beverage and dessert products for both foodservice and retail. We work on coffee, frappe, latte, soft serve, and wellness-focused concepts, with a strong focus on flavor, function, and commercialization.

Position Overview
We are looking for a creative and hands-on Part-Time Culinary Innovation Intern to support our product ideation and lab development efforts. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate interested in culinary innovation, beverage development, frozen desserts, and food product commercialization.

The intern will work closely with our team on new soft serve and coffee-based concepts, helping with bench-top development, sample preparation, tasting, documentation, and trend research.

What You’ll Do

Assist with ideation for new soft serve, coffee, latte, frappe, and related beverage products

Prepare bench samples in the lab for internal review and tasting

Support flavor, texture, sweetness, and performance optimization

Help organize formulas, trial notes, and product development records

Research flavor trends, ingredients, and competitor products

Assist with ingredient testing and sample coordination

Support transition from concept to pilot and production trials when needed

What We’re Looking For

Current student or recent graduate in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry, Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field

Strong interest in beverage development, frozen desserts, and product innovation

Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable documenting work clearly

Able to work hands-on in a lab or test kitchen environment

Creative, curious, and eager to learn

Basic Excel or Google Sheets skills preferred

Preferred Qualifications

Interest in coffee, flavor systems, desserts, or beverage innovation

Prior kitchen, bakery, café, or lab experience is a plus

Interest in learning how products move from ideation to commercialization

Schedule

Part-time

Flexible based on class schedule

On-site in Rancho Cucamonga

Compensation

Hourly pay, based on experience
