Operations Team Lead (Intern)

About the Role: 25 hrs/week, unpaid, 6-month program.
Fully remote | Operations Team | OPT/CPT eligible

Responsibilities
-Lead and oversee the Operations Team, ensuring alignment between operational initiatives and overall organizational strategy.
-Develop and advance long-term operations programs focused on process optimization, workflow systems, project execution, quality assurance, and scalability across departments.
-Identify and launch strategic projects that improve efficiency, structure, performance tracking, and cross-team coordination.
-Design and facilitate operations meetings, standups, trainings, and strategic planning sessions to drive execution and accountability.
-Establish clear operational priorities, timelines, and deliverables; ensure initiatives move from planning to implementation with measurable outcomes.
-Supervise and mentor operations interns and team members, providing structure, feedback, and performance support.
-Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional program leads to align operational execution with business goals, capacity, and timelines.
-Build and maintain reporting systems (KPIs, workflow dashboards, status updates) to track progress and communicate results to leadership.


Qualifications
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
-Strong leadership and facilitation skills with the ability to guide discussions and drive decisions in a remote environment.
-Experience managing projects from planning through execution (scope, timelines, stakeholders, deliverables).
-Ability to think both strategically (systems + scalability) and operationally (execution details + follow-through).
-Strong communication skills with confidence leading meetings, documenting workflows, and coordinating across teams.
-Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple ongoing initiatives simultaneously.
-High integrity and reliability, with strong ownership over deadlines and team outcomes.
-Weekly Scheduled Meeting Times (1–1.5 hour meetings)
Monday: 1:00 pm ET ; 6:00pm EST
Wednesday: 1:00pm EST ; 2:30pm EST
Friday:1:00pm EST
(Additional leadership meetings may be required depending on project scope.)


Preferred Skills
Familiarity with process improvement methods (Lean, Six Sigma basics), SOP creation, and operational playbooks.
Experience building and managing workflows in tools like Asana, Trello, Monday.com, Notion, Airtable, or similar.
Comfort developing scalable systems, documentation standards, and repeatable execution frameworks.
Strong data and reporting ability (Excel/Sheets, dashboards, KPI tracking).
Experience facilitating group discussions, trainings, or operational planning sessions.
Interest in operational excellence, program management, consulting, or business transformation.
Experience working in remote, fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
Ability to balance autonomy with collaborative leadership.
