The Battleship Wisconsin Visitor Operations/Historical Interpretation Intern will assist the Battleship Crew with interpretation activities such as: following opening/closing protocols and procedures, providing wayfinding instructions, leading and assisting with tours, standing quarterdeck watch, interacting with guests, and assisting with developing Battleship-related programming.
Qualifications:
- Must have interest in gaining a workforce experience in a museum and historic ship setting
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, bend and reach above the head
- Walk and climb ladders to upper and lower decks required
- Tolerate and navigate small spaces
- Capacity to withstand varying temperatures, slight rain, and wind
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Will be required to complete a City of Norfolk Background Check (no cost to intern; instructions will be given at time of offering internship position to complete this steps
All Nauticus Intern positions are unpaid with no expectation of compensation.
Reports to Christie Seyglnski, Battleship Operations Manager
Schedule is based on availability of intern and supervisors.
Seasonal Position (Fall, Spring, Summer Semesters)- Up to 40 hours/week; Mondays-Thursdays; 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; 150 hours total
Training will occur on start day.
