Job Description
Roskam has a full-time Summer 2026 Maintenance internship opportunity available for individuals currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or a related engineering field; recent graduates may apply with a related concentration and interest in a career within the Engineering. The summer internships will be on-site at our facilities in Grand Rapids.
This maintenance engineering intern position offers hands-on experience in the field of mechanical engineering, providing an opportunity to work on real-world projects that impact our products and services. The ideal candidate will collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of projects and continuous improvement of the production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze production processes and equipment for potential improvements
Identify root cause of production issues and provide solutions
Review current Preventative Maintenance schedule and processes
Update processes, materials and communication around updates to PM
Documenting and maintaining accurate records of all design-related activities and decisions.
Performing continuous improvement activities to enhance the efficiency, quality, and safety of the food manufacturing processes and equipment.
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
Required:
Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred:
Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes
Proficiency in Engineering software
