Laboratory Student Helper
Student helper needed in UW Genome Sciences/Molecular Biology Lab to perform basic laboratory procedures including restocking, sorting and autoclaving glassware and solutions, managing a complex lab waste stream, and flexibility to meet fluctuating volume of work.
Hours are flexible, generally between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Mon-Fri, with flexibility once established. The job is expected to take 5-10 hours/week and starts immediately. Shifts are usually 2.5-4 hours long. Only candidates able to make at least a one-year commitment will be considered. This job is all year round including the Summer quarter. Great intro to the research environment.
We seek candidates who are dependable, meticulous, proactive, and can work independently. No experience required, though lab experience or lab coursework would be helpful. Some heavy lifting (approximately 30 lb) is required. Chemistry/Biology background preferred.
