Assistant Teacher (Part-Time, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
Hoboken Montessori School (HMS) is seeking a dependable, flexible, patient, and caring Assistant Teacher to support our Head Teaching team in creating a warm, engaging, and respectful classroom environment.

Position Overview
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
This role provides hands-on classroom support and plays an essential part in maintaining a nurturing, well-organized learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person classroom assistance and supervision
- Support daily childcare routines and classroom activities
- Help maintain the care and organization of classroom and school facilities
- Foster an environment of mutual respect using positive communication and classroom management techniques
- Encourage and guide children’s positive social interactions
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds when assisting children
- Engage at children’s level (sitting on the floor, kneeling, squatting)
- Stand and move for extended periods throughout the day

Parent founded in 2011, Hoboken Montessori School (“HMS”) is a non-sectarian early childhood school designed to nurture a child’s inherent love of learning for children ages 16 months to Kindergarten. Guided by Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy, our program is taught by Head teachers who have been specially trained and certified in Montessori education.
