Art Studio Graduate Assistant
Candidates must be accepted into one of the Graduate Programs here at Lander University prior to beginning the position.
Compensation: Selected candidate will receive a 50% tuition and fee waiver as well as a $3000 stipend per semester. Note that if the GA position does not relate directly to their graduate studies the student will be taxed on the stipend and tuition benefits. Graduate Assistants work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year. Graduate Assistantships may be renewed for one additional year.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Art or Art Education at Lander University
- Must be able to work face-to-face 20 hrs. per week on campus
- Experience working with 2D and 3D art studios; ability to mentor undergraduate students in studio operations and work collaboratively with faculty members
Primary Responsibilities:
There are two positions for the Art Studio Graduate Assistant. They will support the Art Department’s chair and faculty with the following functions:
- Assisting faculty in providing high-quality instruction and operations in both 2D and 3D studio areas;
- Following all safety protocols as required by Departmental and University policies;
- Assisting with special instructional events for the Department of Art;
- Taking inventory of supplies and materials to assist with budget planning and use of course fees;
- Responding to faculty members’ needs for assistance; and
- Other duties as assigned as Chair, Dept. of Art.
