Medical Teams International is a non-profit healthcare organization focused on breaking barriers to health and restoring wholeness in a hurting world. Our US Programs team is composed of public health, medical, and dental professionals who bring free mobile healthcare to economically disadvantaged and vulnerable communities and individuals in Oregon and Washington. From dentists providing fillings and extractions, to nurses screening for chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension, our mobile clinics travel the Pacific Northwest offering critical services to those who need it most. Medical and dental insurance aren’t prerequisites for receiving our services, meaning that anyone experiencing barriers to care can benefit from the compassionate and culturally competent care we provide. Through our partnerships with state and local healthcare organizations and a wide range of community-based organizations, we are also providing emergency preparedness education and training to communities across Oregon. The OHA AmeriCorps VISTA Partnership Project is committed to building a prepared and capable public health workforce to strengthen our work in Oregon communities. We value applicants who can bring lived experience. With the innovative public health work happening in Oregon, Tigard is a wonderful place to explore a future in public health!
