S.T.E.A.M. Instructor
Snapology provides a fun and interactive environment for all children to learn about S.T.E.A.M. through building and manipulation using LEGO® bricks and technology. We are looking for fun and dynamic instructors to host school enrichment programs, summer camps, workshops, birthday parties, field trips and custom events. Our ready-to-go programs, including robotics and engineering, focus on teamwork and collaboration for children ages 3-14.
Location S.T.E.A.M. Instructors lead Snapology’s Lego-based programs across different schools, community centers and private events in Stamford, CT and surrounding areas.
Scheduling Options:
School Year: M-F part-time, flexible, weekend hours for birthdays and workshops
Summer: M-F, half-day and full-day camps, typically between 8 am – 3 pm, plus setup/breakdown
Hours are assigned based on your availability.
Instructors are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 3-14, although not all instructors are required to teach all age groups. This role requires a passion for making learning fun, as well as the ability to collaborate and communicate with Snapology leadership, school administrators, parents and children.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead students (max. 24) through Snapology’s fun and interactive programming
- Actively manage the classroom including ensuring the children are safe, engaged and having fun
- Encourage and monitor student progress to enhance teaching strategies
- Flexibility to adapt programs as needed to enhance accessibility for all students
- Review ready-to-go curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions (all supplies and resources are provided)
- Professionally communicate with parents and clients regarding programming
- Encourage students and parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs
- Participate in periodic Snapology staff meetings
Compensation: Instructors are paid for all hours worked, including teaching, setup, and training.
Qualifications:
- Clear background check
- Experience working with children in a learning environment
- Education degree or teaching experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Must have reliable transportation and a secure location to store teaching kit(s)
- Ability to lift up to 10lbs to store and transport teaching kit(s)
This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Part-Time S.T.E.A.M. Instructors for Children's Enrichment Classes typically work between 5-15 hours per week.
