Pediatric Speech Therapist
Job Purpose: To treat infants and children facing various health conditions or developmental delays. Improve or treat a broad range of communication and swallowing disorders.
Responsibilities:
· Assess and evaluate patient;
· Review medical records, as appropriate;
· Coordinate a child’s care with other health care professionals
· Communicate and counsel weekly with patients and parents/guardians of patients;
· Develop and implement treatment plans;
· Completes clinical notes documenting activities, progress and improvement within 48 hours of a
therapeutic session.
· Complete required billing records;
· Attends all mandatory training;
· Maintain all licensing and insurance credentialing;
· Teach or improve communication or alternative communication methods
· Work with patients to develop and strengthen the muscles used to swallow
· Teach patients on how to make sounds and improve their voice for clarity and understanding
· Help with speech cadence, fluency, pitch or tone.
Requirements:
· Graduate of an accredited Speech Therapy school
· An Indiana state license of Speech Therapy
· Ability to handle stress
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
· Attention to detail, patience, and empathy
· Physical endurance and dexterity to lift patient, and therapeutic equipment
· Previous experience preferred.
