Junior WordPress Designer/Developer

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Junior WordPress Designer / Developer to support ongoing website and system development projects. This is a part-time independent contractor position for approximately 10 hours per week at $25 per hour.

This role involves more than basic page design. Projects may include building and maintaining custom dashboards, scheduling systems, LMS/CMS tools, and program management interfaces for a virtual tutoring and education program.

The ideal candidate is able to work independently, communicate clearly, and build reliable, well-structured WordPress solutions using low-code / no-code tools while handling projects with real operational impact.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop pages and system components on a WordPress website
  • Build and maintain custom dashboards, scheduling tools, and LMS/CMS-style pages
  • Use low-code / no-code tools (Elementor, Gutenberg, plugins, etc.) to create functional and scalable solutions
  • Work independently to complete assigned development tasks
  • Document progress, updates, and iterations clearly
  • Communicate regularly about project status, challenges, and blockers
  • Follow existing design, formatting, and system structure standards
  • Make revisions based on feedback in a timely manner
  • Support development of tools used for a virtual tutoring / education program

 

Requirements

  • Experience working with WordPress websites
  • Ability to use low-code / no-code website builders within WordPress
  • Ability to build structured pages, dashboards, or workflow systems (not just static pages)
  • Strong ability to work independently without supervision
  • Comfortable working on high-priority, high-impact projects
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to document development progress and changes
  • Reliable, responsive, and detail-oriented
