Student Research Assistant
The Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center is looking to hire a student history researcher to work during the summer of 2026. This position would conduct research and write exhibition text for the Beaumier Center’s upcoming exhibition on the Barnes-Hecker mining disaster opening in October 2026. Successful candidates will have historical research experience on the undergraduate level. The position will begin on May 4 and run for 16 weeks with completion before September 2026. The work will be done on site at the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center with occasional research in the NMU Archives and local libraries and historical societies. This position will also monitor the Beaumier Center’s gallery space during its open hours, while they conduct their research.
