Position: Summer 2026 Undergraduate Intern – Clinical Support

Duration: Summer Session

Location: PermiaCare

Job Description: 

The following outlines the primary and potential duties and responsibilities for an undergraduate level intern responsible for social media support, counseling session assistance, Spanish-English interpretation (highly preferred), and additional support functions within the organization.

Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and organizational privacy standards.

Social Media Support
• Assist with planning, creating, and scheduling content for the organization’s social media platforms.

• Help monitor engagement and respond to public-facing comments/messages under 
supervision.

Counseling Session Support (for social services majors)
• Observe counseling sessions (with client consent) for learning and documentation purposes.

• Participate in case discussions and clinical team meetings as appropriate.

Professional Development
• Attend staff meetings, training, and supervision sessions.

• Maintain a reflective journal or log of learning experiences during the internship.

• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take initiative within the scope of training and supervision.

Spanish-to-English Interpretation
• Provide real-time verbal interpretation during counseling sessions, group meetings, and client interactions.

• Assist staff in translating written materials from Spanish to English and vice versa, ensuring cultural sensitivity and accuracy.

• Translate documents such as consent forms, educational materials, or outreach flyers.

• Assist in the development of bilingual client-facing documentation or internal tools.

• Support communication between Spanish-speaking clients and English-speaking staff.

General Administrative Support
• Participate in outreach events, community education, or organizational projects as assigned.

• Support team members with ad hoc tasks that contribute to client services and program success.

Other Duties as Assigned
• Perform additional tasks related to the intern’s learning goals and the organization’s needs,  which may vary week by week.
