Business Operations Intern (Education Startup Environment)

Compensation: Paid (rate dependent on experience and schedule)

Kalexedy Learning Center is a personalized learning environment serving students in grades 3–12 in Framingham, Massachusetts. Our programs combine academic support, enrichment, and mentorship in small-group settings designed to help students thrive.

Kalexedy serves a diverse community of learners, including homeschool students, advanced learners, and neurodivergent students who benefit from flexible, individualized learning pathways.

As a small and growing organization, our team works across many aspects of the business—from program delivery and family engagement to marketing, operations, and new program development.

This internship is ideal for students interested in gaining hands-on experience inside a growing education organization where interns contribute to real operational and strategic projects.

Internship Overview

Kalexedy is seeking a Business Operations Intern to support day-to-day operations, program logistics, and strategic initiatives.

This role provides exposure to how a small organization operates behind the scenes. Interns will assist with operations, marketing, student programming, and business research projects while working closely with leadership.

The position begins part-time during the spring semester, with expanded hours beginning in June as summer programming begins.

This position is primarily in-person in Framingham, as many responsibilities involve supporting programs and working directly with staff and students.

Responsibilities

Operations & Program Support

  • Assist with planning and coordination of student programs, workshops, and summer activities
  • Help prepare materials and manage logistics for events and programs
  • Support operational documentation and organizational projects

Student Engagement

  • Assist staff with supervised student activities and workshops
  • Help prepare materials and activity setups
  • Provide general support during camps, events, and special programs

Marketing & Social Media

  • Assist with preparation and scheduling of social media content
  • Support creation of marketing materials and community announcements
  • Help maintain consistency across communication platforms

Business Development & Research

  • Conduct research on vendors, educational tools, and potential program offerings
  • Assist with evaluation of software platforms and operational tools
  • Support community partnerships and outreach initiatives

Administrative & Systems Support

  • Help maintain organized digital records and internal systems
  • Assist with software administration tasks and data organization
  • Support internal reporting and operational tracking

  • Comfort working both independently and as part of a small team
  • Interest in education, entrepreneurship, operations, or nonprofit work

Students studying business, education, communications, psychology, or public policy are especially encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Be available to work primarily in person in Framingham, MA
  • Be able to pass a CORI background check
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening

Experience with social media platforms, productivity software, or data organization tools is helpful but not required.

Schedule

Part-time during spring semester (flexible schedule)

Expanded hours beginning June 2026

Typical range: 10–25 hours per week depending on availability
