Physical Therapist Assistant

Join our healthcare team as a Physical Therapist Assistant, where your expertise will directly impact patient recovery and quality of life. In this role, you will collaborate closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver rehabilitative care at our out-patient clinic. Your hands-on approach and compassionate attitude will help patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Duties

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing personalized care plans for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • Provide direct patient care through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and modalities to improve strength, flexibility, and function.
  • Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment accurately in medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Support discharge planning by educating patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility aids, and safety precautions for continued recovery at home.
  • Conduct assessments related to physiology and anatomy knowledge to tailor interventions effectively across orthopedic, outpatient, inpatient, and acute care settings.
  • Participate in team meetings to coordinate care strategies within multidisciplinary teams focused on patient-centered outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines during all therapy sessions.

 

Skills

  • Strong understanding of physiotherapy principles with proficiency in anatomy and physiology.
  • Skilled in trigger point therapy techniques to alleviate muscle pain and improve mobility.
  • Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to rehabilitation and healthcare documentation.
  • Experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics or home health environments.
  • Knowledge of discharge planning processes to support seamless patient transitions from hospital to home or other care facilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • All candidates must be PTA students who are graduating in the spring of 2026 OR licensed physical therapy assistants 
  • Anatomy Knowledge 
  • Orthopedic experience
