The yield2Yield Center for Biblical Financial Wisdom (CenFi), in partnership with the Ron Blue Institute, is a peer-to-peer coaching program at Union University. We are grounded in the fact that God owns it all (Psalm 24:1).

We believe that money is, first and foremost, a heart issue—not merely a math problem to solve. With this in mind, we encourage all students who will be enrolled in the Fall 2026 semester to apply, regardless of their academic major or background. Job Summary: 

6-10 hours per week which includes ongoing training.

A coach is responsible for supporting and living out the mission, vision, and values of the yield2Yield Center for Biblical Financial Wisdom (CenFi). This coach has a desire to be grounded in biblical financial wisdom and to guide others to live intentionally, invest wisely, and give generously. This will be accomplished through workshops, group presentations, one-on one peer financial coaching, writing educational content, and marketing CenFi.

 

Pay: $12/hour

Faculty Advisor: Dr. Santhosh Abraham

Led by Union Graduate: Stephen Moore ’84

 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Conduct educational presentations and workshops across campus to students, regarding how to live intentionally, invest wisely, and give generously.
  • Blog and write content about personal finance topics.
  • Respond to e-mails from Union University students regarding personal financial matters.
  • Market the Center for Biblical Financial Wisdom (CenFi).
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with current students.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled student.
  • Experience with blogging or writing content is helpful.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and provide compassionate, non-judgmental financial coaching.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with other departments and faculty to enhance financial literacy programs at UU.
  • Commitment to integrating Biblical principles into financial coaching and supporting students in a holistic, Christ-centered manner.
  • Knowledge of university resources and services that support student financial health, including financial aid, counseling, and community resources is helpful.

The following are areas that are critical to work as a Student Financial Coach. While applicants are not required to meet every point perfectly, they should be aware of their weaknesses and be prepared to grow in each area.

Applicants should have skills in:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with individuals at all levels.
  • Dependability, with strong organization, business maturity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
  • Exceptional customer service skills in dealing with students, staff, and volunteers.
  • Strong technical and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and any relevant financial literacy tools.

 

Applicants should have the ability to:

  • Self-start, remain calm under pressure, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Multi-task effectively, managing competing priorities and workflows.
  • Relate to diverse individuals and manage interpersonal dynamics under various circumstances.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and initiative in decision-making.
  • Manage administrative details and day-to-day operations independently, taking responsibility without direct supervision.
  • Foster teamwork and collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all endeavors.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work, particularly regarding student information.
