Home Works is an upscale interior design boutique and lifestyle showroom located in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia. Our space blends curated home décor, global objects, styling services, and hospitality into an immersive retail experience.

We are seeking a retail-savvy merchandising assistant with a strong eye for design and prior retail experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both aesthetic work and operational responsibility—someone who can style a vignette beautifully and also manage inventory, client service, and store systems with precision.

This position is highly hands-on and requires someone who is organized, dependable, visually intuitive, and comfortable interacting with clients.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Merchandising

Style and refresh product displays and showroom vignettes

Assist with merchandising new inventory and seasonal displays

Maintain the visual standards of an upscale interior design showroom

Support occasional product buying and vendor coordination

Customer Experience

Assist clients in selecting home décor, gifts, and lifestyle products

Provide warm, professional customer service in-store

Support the overall guest experience within the showroom and tea café environment

Operations & Inventory

Receive, tag, and process incoming merchandise

Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock organization

Manage POS and customer service platforms

Support order fulfillment, packaging, and online orders when needed

Store Support

Maintain showroom presentation and organization

Manage tasks independently and prioritize work efficiently

Assist with occasional in-store events and customer engagement

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of retail merchandising experience
(fashion, home décor, lifestyle retail, or design showroom preferred)

Experience working in a retail sales environment

Experience with inventory management or stock systems

Strong visual instincts and an eye for styling and presentation

Comfortable speaking with clients and providing excellent customer service

Highly organized with strong time management and task follow-through

Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
