Aquaculture Policy Analyst (NOAA Fisheries Support)
Remote (U.S.) with periodic travel to Silver Spring, MD
Salary: $62,000 – $97,000 annually
Full-time

This position supports a federal project with an initial one-year term and the potential for extension for an additional year

Occasional travel may be required for meetings and coordination. Authorized work travel will be reimbursed in accordance with company and federal travel policies.

We are seeking an Aquaculture Policy Analyst to support the NOAA Fisheries Office of Aquaculture on federal marine aquaculture policy and regulatory initiatives.

This role works at the intersection of aquaculture science, marine policy, and environmental regulation, supporting research, policy analysis, and coordination across federal agencies and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Conduct research on marine aquaculture policy and regulations

Prepare policy memos, briefings, and analytical summaries

Review and provide comments on regulatory and policy documents

Assist with meeting preparation and stakeholder coordination

Support development of communications and outreach materials

Qualifications

Master’s degree in marine science, marine policy, environmental policy, public administration, or related field

At least one year of experience with environmental policy, regulatory analysis, or marine resource management

Strong writing and analytical skills

Preferred

Familiarity with federal statutes such as NEPA, ESA, MMPA, or Magnuson-Stevens Act

Interest in aquaculture policy or marine resource management

Experience with federal policy fellowships, marine policy programs, or graduate policy training (e.g., Knauss Fellowship, MEM programs) is a plus
