Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

While most work will occur during these regular hours, occasional evening or additional hours may be required to support Chamber events, attend travel shows, or participate in professional training opportunities.

Position Overview

The Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a creative and organized Part-Time Marketing Manager to oversee the Chamber’s marketing and communications. This role is responsible for promoting Chamber programs, events, and member businesses through social media, newsletters, marketing materials, and publications.

This position plays an important role in supporting the Chamber’s mission of strengthening the Merrill business community and promoting local economic growth.

Responsibilities Social Media & Digital Marketing

  • Plan, create, and schedule social media posts across Chamber platforms
  • Promote Chamber events, programs, and member businesses
  • Monitor engagement and maintain consistent branding and messaging

Newsletter & Communications

  • Create and distribute the Chamber’s monthly newsletter
  • Collect relevant information from Chamber staff, board members, and member businesses
  • Ensure communications are clear, timely, and engaging

Event Marketing

  • Develop marketing materials for Chamber events and initiatives
  • Promote events through social media, email, and print materials

Annual Visitor’s Guide

  • Coordinate the production of the Merrill Area Chamber’s annual Visitor’s Guide 
  • Work with local businesses to gather relevant content
  • Sell advertising space to local businesses for the publication
  • Coordinate timelines and communication with designers and printers

Additional Duties

  • Maintain organized marketing records and advertising partnerships
  • Assist with other promotional and communication efforts that support Chamber programs

Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing, communications, social media management, or related field preferred
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and email marketing tools
  • Sales or advertising experience is helpful for Visitor’s Guide ad sales
  • Knowledge of the Merrill area and local business community is a plus
