Shaved Ice Server
Introduction and description
TLDR: former and current staff say this is the most fun job they've ever had. You basically make people happy and play with snow.
You are the most important part of ensuring that Casey’s Snowballs is in business for years to come. Seriously. We believe that a business is the people who customers interact with. As a server, you’re the face of Casey’s Snowballs in the eyes of the people you serve.
We think that’s pretty profound and we expect you to take the role seriously. The impacts you make will affect everyone who currently works at Casey’s and everyone who will.
Not the standard introduction. We like to start with why at Casey’s, so that's why we start there.
You will primarily work from our location near Airport and 51st, and will occasionally work catering shifts as needed, which usually begin at our storefront. During a shift, you will make and serve snowballs, assist in preparing supplies and back-of-house duties, harvest ice, clean supplies or fixtures, and possibly other tasks yet to be determined.
Everyone at Casey’s crosstrains, meaning that we want the whole team to function without the need for a Chief Support (manager) to be present. We never know when people may not be able to work, so the whole team is redundantly trained so we can all respond better.
You don't have to love dad jokes to work here, but you will encounter them.
Term
We’re seeking both full-time and part-time availabilities. The position is seasonal and will end, most likely, in October. It will resume in February or March. We always hope staff return each year to work with us.
Compensation
- You will be guaranteed $18 per hour worked. This is done by paying a base wage of $7.25 per hour plus tips. If base wage plus tips fail to equal $18 per hour, Casey’s will compensate for the difference. You will never earn less than $18 per hour.
- Overtime is possible, but we try to avoid it because we don’t want to create burnout.
- Casey’s operates a tip pool wherein eligible employees share tips based upon the number of hours worked by pay period. Catering tips are pooled separately from tips received at our storefront. This position is part of the tip pool.
- Server training is paid at $15/hr without tips. There are other paid training or educational opportunities available.
- See benefits below.
