The Associate Pastor role is a new role at Velocity Church, designed to support the existing staff as we move from one location to two campuses. This role will primarily focus on serving the home campus while the lead pastor goes to start the new campus. The Associate Pastor will be responsible for regular preaching, running small groups, overseeing volunteers, meeting for counseling, and supporting various church ministries. This person will work closely with the Lead Pastor on sermon series and church initiatives, and collaborate with the Worship and Family Pastors on events and programs.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of ministry experience preferably in urban or metropolitan areas
• Bachelor’s Degree or proven, relevant experience
• Demonstrated success in ministry collaboration
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• Proven experience in mentoring and discipling others 

The ideal candidate for the Associate Pastor position will:

• Have a humble, teachable spirit, who leads first through serving
• Show integrity and accountability in all situations and strives to live life “above reproach”
• Independently motivated; a self-starter
• Have proven skill in writing and preaching effective messages that connect with and point people towards God
• Collaborate with staff and key volunteers on events, service opportunities, and church operations
• Have a heart for people far from God and a desire to reach them
• Prioritize and support children and youth ministries
