Position Summary
We are hiring an undergraduate research assistant to support our laboratory studies involving remediation and management of contaminants in water. The position will involve supporting multiple studies, including column, sand-tank, and batch reactor systems. The selected candidate will also support general laboratory operations, including preparing chemical waste for disposal.

Required Job Qualifications
Interest in hands-on laboratory experience.
Knowledge about chemistry and experience with, or willingness to learn, procedures for working with chemicals in the laboratory.
Interest in working with emerging contaminants, including PFAS, 1,4-dioxane.
Ability to reach the foothills campus (noting that a bus route is available).
Preferred Job Qualifications
Laboratory experience, including working with chemicals, reactors, biological and abiotic systems.
Experience working with sensors or dataloggers, including programming.
Experience operating analytical instruments, including gas chromatography (GC) or ionic chromatography (IC).
Essential Duties
Support laboratory column and sand tank studies.
Assist with disposal of chemical waste.
Assisting with general lab operations.
Performing laboratory tasks in a safe manner, strictly following laboratory safety rules.
