Position Overview
Firomar is seeking a PLC Machine Operator / Automation Technician to help operate and maintain automated production equipment in our manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for someone with a background in automation, mechatronics, electrical systems, or industrial technology who enjoys working hands-on with machinery.
The position involves monitoring PLC-controlled equipment, troubleshooting production issues, and helping ensure smooth operation of automated systems.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
- Start up, shut down, and oversee automated production processes
- Troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, or control system issues
- Work with engineering staff to adjust machine settings and optimize production
- Perform routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
- Record production data and report operational issues
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
Qualifications
- Degree or coursework in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred
- Familiarity with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Basic understanding of sensors, motors, relays, and industrial controls
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and solve problems in a production environment
- Comfortable working around industrial machinery
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PLC programming or ladder logic
- Industrial maintenance or machine operation experience
- Understanding of automation systems and production equipment
