Town Administrator
The Town of Swansea, Mass. (pop. 17,500), a beautiful and historic coastal community located in Bristol County at the eastern gateway to the South Coast region of Massachusetts, is seeking an experienced municipal leader with superior financial acumen as well as proficient economic development, project management, procurement, and communications skills, to serve as Town Administrator. Candidates should have a high level of accountability for self and the ability to hold others accountable, be an innovative and strategic thinker particularly related to financial strategies and operational processes, value transparency in government, eschew micromanagement, and be able to build collaborative relationships. MCPPO certification is preferred. The town has an AA+ rating and FY26 budget of $60M. Swansea has an Open Town Meeting form of government with a Town Administrator and three-member Board of Selectmen.
Preferred candidates will have a master’s degree, preferably in public administration and 7-10 years of experience in municipal administration or related administrative activity.
Annual salary: $185K+/- DOQ. EOE.
