This vacancy is for a Supervisory Accountant (Assistant Division Chief) position in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.

Duties

  • Manages all phases of accounting for payment processing, payment certification, funds collection and accounts receivable.
  • Assists in allocating Division resources to meet demands arising from special projects, development or expansion of programs, and implementation of the accounting and financial management program.
  • Ensures timely reconciliation of disbursement and credit transactions affecting the agency's fund balance with Treasury.
  • Manages the data integrity of the accounts payable and accounts receivable data that is processed in the Core Financial System (CFS) general ledger, to ensure they satisfy regulatory or legislative guidelines and are SGL compliant.
  • Provides direct and indirect supervision for subordinate staff within the assigned unit area; this responsibility includes the planning, development, and successful implementation of the disbursement and collection functions.
