Montessori Kindergarten Teacher

Fox Valley Montessori Academy is seeking a caring, experienced, and passionate Montessori Kindergarten Teacher to join our vibrant learning community in Appleton, Wisconsin. About the Role
The Kindergarten Teacher will guide and support students in a traditional Montessori mixed-age classroom serving children ages 4–7.  Our Casa classroom is intentionally small, with a class size of approximately 8–15 students, allowing for meaningful relationships, more one-on-one guidance, and highly individualized learning experiences. In this environment, the teacher fosters independence, curiosity, and confidence while supporting each child’s individual developmental path. The role includes preparing and maintaining a thoughtfully organized classroom, presenting Montessori materials across curriculum areas, and encouraging peer learning and leadership within the mixed-age community. The teacher will also collaborate with colleagues and build strong, supportive relationships with families.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide and support children ages 4–7 in a Montessori classroom environment
• Implement Montessori curriculum across language, mathematics, cultural studies, and practical life
• Plan & Implement FVMA's monthly curriculum themes 
• Observe and assess student development and progress
• Send weekly messages to the families informing them of activities, student progress, and educating families on Montessori materials used in the classroom
• Host parent-teacher conferences twice per school year
• Foster a calm, respectful classroom community
• Communicate regularly and positively with families
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leadership

Qualifications

• Montessori certification for Early Childhood/Primary preferred
• Wisconsin State teaching license (or ability to obtain one)
• Experience working with preschool/kindergarten children
• Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and classroom practices
• Warm, patient, and collaborative approach with children and colleagues
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
