High School English Teacher

The School District of New London is seeking a qualified High School English teacher for a full-time (1.0 FTE) position at New London High School beginning with the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will hold or be eligible for a Wisconsin 4-12 English Language (2300) teaching license.

Essential Job Duties:


 

  • Teach courses that may include
    • English 11
    • AP Language (depending upon credentials)
  • Plan standards‑aligned units and daily lesson plans with clear objectives, activities, and assessments.
  • Use appropriate instructional methods (lecture, projects, simulations, group work, technology)
  • Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and required reports or progress updates.
  • Establish and enforce classroom procedures and behavior expectations to create an orderly, safe, and respectful learning environment.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians and counselors about student progress and concerns.
  • Participate in professional development, curriculum work, and school committees to maintain professional competence.
