Internal Candidate Only-Student Assistant - Legal Support - Summer 2026- Hybrid (San Francisco, CA)

The California Public Utilities Commission's Public Advocates Office, an independent ratepayer advocacy organization is seeking to hire two (2) diligent and hard-working student assistants for the summer who can research and analyze legal issues that impact California ratepayers. 

The student assistants will work closely with the Deputy Chief Counsel on legal issues and special projects.  Over the summer, the student assistants may also assist our attorneys and experts in regulatory litigation which affects millions of Californians.  In coordination with the Legal Division, there will be regular meetings with other student assistants to learn from practitioners and guest speakers.

This opportunity will provide the student assistant with experience performing complex legal work in compliance with government guidelines.  The student assistant will also develop the ability to effectively analyze cases and regulatory materials.
