Position Title:

Graduate Assistant for the CETL and faculty support, Part Time

Terms of Employment:

  • For the Fall semester 10 hours per week, beginning August 24, 2026 and ending December 18, 2026.
  • For the Spring semester 10 hours per week, beginning January 19, 2027 and ending May 14, 2027.

Compensation:

  • Graduate Assistantship stipend is $3,182.5 per semester for a half-time appointment (10 hours per week). Pay is biweekly and stipend is prorated depending on start date.
  • Graduate Assistants and their spouses may qualify for in-state tuition. Spouses must submit a marriage certificate to gradcollege@uni.edu
  • Graduate Assistants may receive University holidays and do not work during the interims between semesters.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists and supports the CETL Director and associate director in all aspects of the CETL, with an emphasis on publicity (Inside UNI, monthly newsletter, podcast)
  • Meets weekly with the CETL team.
  • Maintains CETL website.
  • Accomplishes tasks and communications utilizing software programs (Qualtrics, Excel, Google Suite); assists with audio and video production & editing, as needed; assists with research. Training will be offered as needed, and as a part of work responsibilities.
  • In cooperation with the director, the CETL GA will be encouraged to develop and deliver initiatives that draw on their strengths and career interests, while also contributing to the mission and operations of the CETL.

 

General Qualifications:

  • Must be a full-time (enrolled in at least 9 eligible credits), degree-seeking student in a UNI's graduate program. Online students able to commute to campus are eligible for assistantships.
  • Be regularly admitted without provisions to degree status in a graduate degree program.  
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00. First semester graduate students must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75.
  • Have an official transcript on file and be fully declared in their graduate major before the start of the assignment.
  • Must meet and complete I-9 eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must complete UNI’s mandatory employee training timely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work independently as well as responsively, with prompt and efficient communication
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail in research, writing, and data
  • Proficiency with digital tools, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and web‑content platforms. Experience with Drupal, media editing tools, or video streaming platforms is a plus.
  • Experience in one or more areas aligned with the Center’s mission, such as marketing, graphic design, video production, digital content development, research communication, or related fields. Applicants may highlight unique expertise that would strengthen the Center’s initiatives.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies, software, or research tools as needed
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills are also desired
  • Research experience is also a plus, which might include literature review, data analysis, or academic/ professional projects
