Clinical Research Coordinator

Position Summary
A laboratory studying the genetic causes of inherited blindness is seeking a motivated Research Assistant to support projects focused on diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa, age-related macular degeneration, and severe myopia. The lab investigates therapeutic approaches including gene therapy and stem cell–based strategies to treat or prevent vision loss. This position is ideal for individuals with strong writing and organizational skills and a long-term interest in biomedical research or medicine.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Draft and edit grant applications, progress reports, and scientific manuscripts

- Track grant submission and manuscript deadlines

- Assist with IRB protocols, consent forms, and regulatory documentation

- Support patient recruitment, consent, and follow-up for clinical studies

- Maintain and organize research data, records, and reports

- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, IRB, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines

- Assist residents and fellows with case reports and manuscript preparation

 

Preferred Qualifications

- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills

- Interest in genetics, ophthalmology, or regenerative medicine

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a research environment
