Position Summary
Student Legal Services (SLS) is seeking a Student Assistant that will primarily work the front desk of the office - greet clients, conduct intake interviews, collect information, answer telephones, answer emails, input client information into a database, schedule appointments, and perform basic office duties. SLS office procedures use Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), which we are willing to teach. Ongoing office training and staff meetings required.

- Ability to use discretion over time to screen facts
- Critical thinking in screening for details
- Patience in working with clients in crisis
- Legible handwriting
- Experience with Adobe, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft programs
Essential Duties
Student Assistants will work approximately 10-15 hours per week. Pay Rate is $16.50/hourly. Work hours are dependent on school schedule and office hours of Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm (occasional evening events are available). Options to work over breaks and summer semester may be available. Student Staff are also required to attend up to 2 days of training prior to the beginning of Fall Semester and on-going, bi-weekly staff meetings - times and dates will be dependent on school schedule availability of all the staff. Due to extensive training, the ability to commit to more than one year is strongly preferred.
