Algorithm Development Engineer

PHY Wireless is seeking an exceptional newly graduated electrical/computer engineering student for full-time salaried employment in algorithm development.  PHY Wireless is building a cutting edge GNSS-free geolocation system based on cellular wireless networks.  The signal processing algorithms start at the physical layer of a wireless communications systems, down the Fourier Transform, and build up and out into advanced filtering and optimization problems.  The technology is inherently low power and we target Massive Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

We are a small company, and your work will have immediate impact in the commercialization of real products.  You will work alongside passionate, committed and inventive engineers, patenting your innovations as you crack real-world problems.

You will learn about intricate and fascinating 3GPP standardized communications systems, like LTE, NB-IoT, Cat-M1, and 5G NR.  The scope of your work will range from wireless channel modeling and simulation to live network testing and analysis.  You will advance our multi-core simulation environment to tacking ever-bigger data sets, and you will use Machine Learning to optimize the system design.  

We are in the La Jolla/UTC area of San Diego, California.  We have a nice office space for you to work, and a flexible work culture where you can find freedom in working from outside the office.
