Are you passionate about building strong systems, improving data practices, and strengthening food access efforts? Nourish Iowa is now recruiting for an Operations & Data Systems VISTA serving with Table to Table.

About the Host Site

Table to Table bridges the gap between abundance and hunger. Volunteers collect surplus food from donors and redistribute it to partners and people who can use it. Their work unites community members and organizations to create a more just and less wasteful food system.

Since April 1996, Table to Table volunteers have rescued and distributed over 30 million pounds of food to area agencies, strengthening food access across Eastern Iowa.

About the Role

As the Operations & Data Systems VISTA, you will strengthen Table to Table’s internal systems by mapping workflows, creating clear procedures, and organizing essential operational documents. Your service will build long-term organizational capacity and improve efficiency, consistency, and communication across programs.

What You’ll Do

* Map operational workflows and create clear procedures
* Observe daily routes, warehouse operations, and partner interactions to identify gaps
* Organize and standardize essential operational documents
* Review current data practices and improve systems
* Develop dashboards and simple reporting tools
* Create training materials to help staff and volunteers use data effectively
* Build grant-tracking systems and reporting tools
* Support communication across the Food Access Network

This role is ideal for someone who communicates well, collaborates easily, and brings strong organization and follow-through to systems-based work.
