Outreach & Database Intern

Bello Machre – Outreach & Database Development Intern (Summer 2026)

Part-Time | 10–15 hrs/week | 10-weeks 120 hour minimum| Glen Burnie, MD

$2,000 stipend available upon completion of 120 hours

 

About the Role

Bello Machre is seeking an Outreach & Database Development Intern to support our Community Outreach Coordinator in expanding and organizing critical resources for families served through our Ray of Hope program.

Bello Machre’s Ray of Hope program provides funding to children, teens, adults, and seniors with intellectual and developmental disabilities for a variety of needs—from specialized summer camp and physical therapy to adaptive equipment and other essential supports. Since 2011, Ray of Hope has provided funding to hundreds of Maryland-based individuals and families, helping improve quality of life and access to critical services.

This internship is ideal for someone interested in nonprofit management, community engagement, research, or social services who wants to build systems that directly impact families.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Resource Research & Development

  • Research local, state, and regional resources for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Identify providers for services such as therapy, recreation programs, adaptive equipment, respite care, and camps
  • Verify contact information, eligibility criteria, and service offerings

 

Database Creation & Organization

  • Assist in building and structuring a comprehensive, user-friendly resource database for Ray of Hope families
  • Categorize resources by age group, geographic area, and service type
  • Develop standardized formatting and data-entry guidelines
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency across entries

 

Community Outreach Support

  • Support outreach efforts to community partners and service providers
  • Assist with drafting outreach emails and communication materials
  • Help track engagement and responses from external partners

 

Program Support & Impact

  • Organize information to ensure families can easily access relevant supports
  • Identify gaps in available resources and recommend areas for expansion
  • Support special projects related to Ray of Hope growth and visibility

 

Who You Are

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Strong researcher with excellent written communication skills
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, databases, and digital tools
  • Passionate about improving access to services for individuals with disabilities
  • Interested in social work, public health, nonprofit leadership, data management, or community development

 

Internship Details

  • 120-hour minimum over 10 weeks (flexible schedule)
  • Part-time: 10–15 hours/week
  • Must pass background checks and attend orientation
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
  • Open to rising juniors/seniors, enrolled students, or professional development applicants
