Ready to launch your finance career with a powerhouse on Long Island? Sterling Floor Designs—a woman-owned, family-operated industry leader for over 45 years—is looking for a bright, motivated Accounting & Business Associate to join our Commack team.
 

If you’re a recent grad who wants more than just a cubicle, this is your chance to work directly with our Director of Finance, CEO, and COO. You’ll gain a 360-degree view of how a successful business operates, from heavy-duty financial reporting to HR and project management.
 

The Sterling Edge
•Real Responsibility: Move beyond theory. You’ll manage AP/AR, sub-contractor billing, and complex reconciliations that keep our multi-million dollar projects moving.


•Strategic Support: You won’t just be "in the books." You’ll assist leadership with HR functions, employee certifications, and internal office operations.


•Mentorship: Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you’ll receive the hands-on experience and development needed to fast-track your professional growth.


What You’ll Master
•Full-Cycle Accounting: Own the invoice lifecycle—from coding and PO matching to weekly check runs and ACH payments.


•Revenue Management: Generate customer invoices, track collections, and manage AR aging for major regional developments.


•Business Operations: Support the "people side" of the business through onboarding, benefits enrollment, and timekeeping management.


•Data Literacy: Compile data and run critical reports that drive our decision-making.


What You Bring
•The Degree: B.S./B.A. in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.


•The Skills: Advanced Excel skills and a natural curiosity for solving puzzles (discrepancies don't stand a chance against you).


•The Vibe: You’re flexible, optimistic, and ready to go "above and beyond."


•The Commitment: You thrive in a collaborative environment and are ready to be on-site in Commack Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).
 

The Perks
•Compensation: $45,000–$50,000 base + bonus potential.
•Summer Fridays: We value work-life balance—head out at 1:00 PM every Friday from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
