Internship Overview
The Transportation Data & Mobility Research Intern will work with transportation datasets to analyze airport travel patterns, route efficiency, and customer demand trends across Southern California.
This internship provides students with real-world experience applying analytics and research methods to modern transportation operations and mobility services.
Students studying data science, computer science, transportation systems, business analytics, artificial intelligence, urban mobility, logistics, or operations research are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Analyze transportation datasets related to airport transfers and regional travel demand
- Research airport travel patterns and customer mobility trends across Southern California
- Evaluate route efficiency and travel time variations for airport transportation services
- Assist with operational analytics to support dispatch coordination and trip scheduling
- Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency and service reliability
- Support internal research projects related to transportation logistics and mobility systems
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this internship, students will:

Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a university program
- Majoring in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Transportation Systems, or related fields
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with spreadsheets or data analysis tools is a plus
- Interest in transportation systems, logistics, or mobility services
Work Environment
Hybrid work environment with some tasks conducted remotely and operational exposure based in Irvine, California.
