Cross Street is involved with some of the most complex and challenging projects in the cities that we operate. Our projects lie at the intersection of public-private development, historic rehabilitation, and mixed-use neighborhood scale redevelopments. The intern selected will have one on one engagement with company leadership as well as work with a broad cross-section of capital partners, designers, consultants, and community stakeholders. Furthermore, the internship includes a capstone presentation to the executive team. Details of this will be given during the interview process.

We set our sights on historically significant, vacant or underutilized buildings and repurpose them with forward-thinking use plans focused on placemaking, innovation, and community development.  CSP develops projects for its own account and also serves as a consultant to non-profits or entrepreneurs with a real estate vision.

Responsibilities

CSP is seeking motivated Summer Interns to support several key verticals within our real estate development portfolio. We are looking for support within our Commercial Development and Development Advisory verticals. This role offers exposure to multiple stages of the development lifecycle, from early planning through project execution, and provides hands‑on experience across a diverse range of CSP initiatives. Responsibilities may include:

1. Assisting with financial feasibility analysis and development modeling
2. Contributing to project management tasks across design, permitting, and construction phases
3. Participating in the assembly of capital stacks and supporting financing efforts
4. Assisting with leasing, marketing, and stakeholder coordination
5. Supporting grant management and compliance tracking
6. Conducting cost reconciliation and supporting financial documentation
7. Assisting with state and local applications, including DHCD submissions
8. Conducting business development research to support new opportunities
9. Assisting with GIS mapping and spatial analysis (in collaboration with CSP team members)

Ultimately, the intern’s responsibilities will be driven by the status of the company’s development projects during the internship experience.

Qualifications

• A four-year college degree and active enrollment in an advanced degree program in business administration, real estate, urban planning, public policy, architecture, historic preservation, law, or another related field is strongly preferred. Real life experience may substitute for a college degree and/or enrollment in an advanced degree program. 
• Relevant experience in real estate, urban planning, construction, architecture, property management, or related fields.
• More important than these qualifications are a candidate’s passion for cities, community development, green building, and historic preservation.

Employment Terms

This is a paid, hourly position located at our offices in Baltimore City. We prefer that the intern work 40 hours per week for approximately 10 weeks beginning in late May to early June. However, we will also consider applicants who are only available on a part-time basis.

This is a paid internship with compensation dependent on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
