Job Purpose
Ensure an effective furniture intake program, including managing the logistics and communication with donors.
Coordinate warehouse organization to ensure optimized space utilization and accurate inventory management for safe and efficient operations.
Create and nurture donor relationships to build organizational sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Inventory and Intake Program Coordination (20-25 hours):
- Develop the weekly schedule and logistics for pick-ups based on donations available and staff members’ weekly work schedules.
- Communicate effectively with furniture donors throughout the intake process and thank them once their donation is complete.
- Convey the mission and work of HiH to furniture donors and all community members, with invitations for further engagement.
- At least twice/week, lead or accompany staff/volunteers on pickup route.
- Complete express bed delivery and/or regular delivery routes.
- Accept donations during scheduled week day dropoff hours.
- Answer and return calls, and assign calls as needed.
- Maintain and strengthen positive, professional relationships with HiH stakeholders.
- Warehouse Coordinator (10 hours):
- Monitor and coordinate day-to-day warehouse organization for existing and new/incoming inventory.
- Carry out warehouse priorities set by the Directors.
- Work with Volunteer Coordinators and Operations Managers to align efforts with warehouse priorities.
- Frequently move furniture and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds in the warehouse for various needs.
- Review inventory for most regularly assigned items and communicate concerns to management.
- Ensure the warehouse is clean and ready for delivery days, volunteer groups, and tours when applicable by keeping aisles clear.
- Development Coordinator (5-10 hours):
- Engage with community businesses, civic organizations, and other existing partners and donors to maintain and strengthen positive, professional relationships.
- Cultivate and grow new community connections to maintain a pipeline of volunteer groups, furniture donors, and financial contributions.
- Develop new approaches to raise funds and community awareness of HiH.
- Other duties as assigned.

- A high school diploma with at least one year of work experience.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work as a member in a team-oriented environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and ability to drive (or learn to drive) a box truck.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds with a lifting partner.
