Elementary Principal

Elementary Principal
Alice E. Grady Elementary School (Grades 2–6)
Start Date: July 1, 2026

The Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a highly qualified and committed administrator to serve as the next Principal of Alice E. Grady Elementary School.

The District

Located in the heart of Westchester County, about twenty miles north of New York City, the Elmsford Union Free School District serves the Village of Elmsford and portions of the Town of Greenburgh. Our close-knit community of approximately 9,300 residents includes about 1,111 students who attend our three schools and UPK program.

With an annual budget of approximately $47 million, the district is proud of its invested community and commitment to students. The Position

The successful candidate will be highly visible, serving as a hands-on instructional leader who enjoys being present throughout the school—someone who easily connects with students, staff, and families and builds strong, genuine relationships within the community.  

The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator who leads with clarity, communicates effectively, fosters accountability, and sets high expectations.  This person will work closely with teachers and district leaders to enhance instruction, promote collaboration, and ensure that district priorities are implemented thoughtfully and effectively.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Educational Administration or a related field
  • Valid New York State School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS), School Building Leader (SBL), School District Leader (SDL), or equivalent administrator certification
  • At least five years of successful teaching experience and building-level administrative experience

Key Qualifications

  • A demonstrated record of improving student achievement through thoughtful, data-informed instructional leadership
  • Strong understanding of literacy and numeracy/STEM development, with experience strengthening curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Experience implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and social-emotional learning frameworks, along with an understanding of the needs of special education and multilingual learners
  • A history of leading and collaborating effectively with experienced staff in a relationship-centered school environment
  • Skill in supporting teachers through meaningful feedback, developing leadership capacity, and investing in the growth of others
  • A commitment to building a positive and caring school culture with high expectations for all 
  • Experience strengthening partnerships with families and the broader community to support strong home–school connections

Salary commensurate with experience
