The expected base wage range for this position is: $16.90 per hour, or other minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction. This position may be eligible for additional compensation according to the Company's policies, as they may be amended from time to time.

The POOL & BEACH FOOD SERVER (Seasonal) is responsible to provide highest service standards and enjoyable guest experience while possessing thorough understanding of food offerings, preparing and offering high quality beverages with focus on salesmanship, and maintaining efficient organization with a clean and aesthetic appeal. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Outlets Manager and Pool & Beach Supervisor when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction. 
  • To extend a courteous, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests at all times. 
  • To make the Outlets Manager or Pool & Beach Supervisor aware of all guest comments and complaints. 
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the company's diverse food and beverage selections (plating/garnish/glassware) and effectively prepare and articulate them to guests. 
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly service to guests, including suggestive selling of menu items and to actively promote additional menu items, specials, and desserts to enhance the dining experience and increase sales revenue. 
  • Efficiently and accurately take food and beverage orders from patrons, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are communicated to the kitchen staff. 
  • Perform opening and closing duties as outlined on department SOP’s. 
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely order preparation and delivery, as well as maintain open lines of communication with coworkers and management. 
  • Safely transport food and drinks from the kitchen to the appropriate guest, ensuring presentation and temperature standards are met, and promptly addressing any issues or requests. 
  • To continuously interact with guests to ensure a professional, and personalized service throughout their meal. 
  • Maintains stock, prepares, and stores all plates, napkins, silverware, sides and other necessary items for a successful shift. 
  • To review and verify previous shift's inventory, at the beginning of every shift and prepare stock/items requisition for the following shift.  
  • To work in heat, sand, and traverse steps up and down to the beach. 
  • To maintain the organization and cleanliness of area at all times. 
  • To maintain the proper care and cleanliness of tableware and serving equipment, handling both to minimize breakage. 
  • To maintain a “No glass policy” at the pool & beach and provide proper utensils to guests in need of swapping glass items for non-breakable materials. 
  • To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle all cash, including maintaining adequate cash amount in bank; giving correct change for cash transactions; ringing all food and drinks through the Micros system; and accurately processing credit cards and room charges. 
  • To accurately manage end of shift reporting in Micros of tips, cash transactions, credit card transactions, room charges, and house accounts along with following cash drop procedures. 
  •  To assist other team members with duties to ensure all tasks are complete and the department is running smoothly. 
  • To prevent the sell of alcoholic beverages to minors by following all applicable laws, guidelines, and company policies. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

High school diploma or equivalent required.  English fluency required.  Must have minimum one year of experience in food service, and display basic knowledge of foods and beverages, service standards, and procedures.  Familiar with California liquor laws.  Experience with Micros Computer systems preferred. Current CPR certification preferred. Hotel experience preferred. A valid food handlers card must be timely obtained upon hire and maintained in good standing, which time and expense may be compensable. A valid California Responsible Beverage Service certification is required. Good basic math skills necessary.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: 

Stands and walks short distances throughout shift.  Constantly required to handle and move objects weighing up to 30 lbs. over short to moderate distances.  Bends and stoops to perform routine cleaning and service tasks.  Must be able to work well under pressure.  Frequent use of stairs. Fast-paced work environment. Guest facing position that may handle conflict and/or encounter individuals who may be upset and emotional at times. 

TRAVEL: 

This position is not expected to travel for work. 

REMOTE WORK:  

This position is not eligible to work remotely. The candidate must be able to work in-person during normal business hours.
