Job Description Summary

The Web Content Specialist for Finance and Business Services (FBS) serves as a strategic contributor to marketing and communications initiatives that enhance visibility and engagement across FBS web platforms. This role is responsible for building, organizing, designing, and maintaining websites using Miami University’s content management system (CMS). The specialist leads website transitions to updated templates, improves user experience through content and navigation optimization, and ensures alignment with university branding and marketing strategies.


This position reports to the Director of Marketing Projects and Operations in FBS Marketing and operates in a hybrid capacity, with one approved remote workday per week.

 

 

Job Description

Essential Duties

Build, design, organize, and maintain FBS websites using the University CMS.

Provide ongoing web updates and maintenance for Finance and Business Services client websites while developing and implementing web strategies that align with and advance client campaign objectives.

Lead website audits and oversee rollout campaigns to implement new tactics and improvements.

Collaborate with University Communications and Marketing (UCM) on CMS templates, updates, and solutions for FBS clients.

Ensure websites follow best practices in usability, accessibility, SEO, and digital content development.

Monitor industry trends and recommend emerging technologies and strategies to enhance digital communications.

Analyze website performance, SEO metrics, and digital marketing data to provide optimization recommendations.
Manage Google Analytics tracking, including paid advertising conversion monitoring.

Optimize web content for usability and engagement, particularly for prospective students.

Ensure compliance with university web policies and industry standards.

Oversee campus digital advertising screens on campus, including managing ad requests, uploading creative assets into Poppulo, and handling client payment processing.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s degree with 2-years of relevant experience in Marketing or a closely related discipline

1–4 years of professional experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS)

Minimum of 1 year of experience in web development.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a higher education or academic environment.

Professional experience guiding clients in web content best practices.

Experience with Google Analytics and Google Search Console.

Experience with email marketing and marketing automation platforms.
Strong understanding of SEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization).

Experience with Google Tag Manager.

Video editing experience.
 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable marketing insights.

Experience producing and maintaining websites.

Experience collaborating with graphic designers, editors, IT specialists, and content providers.

Excellent writing, editing, communication, and collaboration skills.

Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and work independently in a dynamic environment.

High level of initiative, attention to detail, and adaptability to emerging technologies.

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and multicultural competence.
 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).

Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for web content updates and optimization.

Familiarity with AI tools and their application in digital marketing, content development, and workflow efficiency.

Working knowledge of Poppulo and other digital advertising platforms.

Experience with campaign performance tracking, digital analytics platforms, and marketing automation tools.

Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally to align content with brand voice, SEO strategy, accessibility standards, and conversion goals.
