Social Media Marketing Intern
Job Summary:
Midland is seeking a digitally-savvy Social Media Marketing Intern to support our growing social media presence and influencer marketing initiatives. This role is ideal for someone passionate about social media marketing, online communities, and outdoor adventure. The intern will help manage daily social media activity, assist with influencer collaborations, and engage with our online community. If you enjoy creating engaging content, building relationships, and working in a fast-paced, creative environment, this is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience.
A passion for the outdoor industry is a plus.
1. Social Media Management
Schedule daily content across all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and others.
Assist with planning and organizing the social media content calendar.
Support social commerce initiatives that help drive engagement and product discovery through social platforms.
2. Community Engagement
Respond to comments, mentions, questions, and direct messages across all platforms in a timely and professional manner.
Monitor conversations about Midland products including two-way radios, walkie talkies, and MicroMobile® radios.
Engage with the community to encourage discussion, interaction, and brand loyalty.
3. Community Group Management
Help oversee and engage with audiences on the OverlandUSA and MidlandUSA Radio Users Facebook pages.
Encourage positive discussions, answer questions when possible, and escalate product questions to the appropriate internal teams.
4. Influencer Marketing Support
Assist with influencer outreach and relationship management.
Help track influencer partnerships, deliverables, and campaign performance.
Identify potential influencers within the outdoor, off-road, overlanding, and preparedness communities.
5. Content Support
Assist the marketing team with gathering, organizing, and publishing user-generated content.
Help identify social media trends and opportunities to increase engagement and reach.
What We’re Looking For
Strong interest in social media, influencer marketing, and digital communication
Familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube
Excellent written communication and attention to detail
Organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Interest in outdoor activities, off-road culture, emergency preparedness, or two-way radio communication is a bonus

Skills and Qualifications:
Working towards or has a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred).

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with influencers
Creative mindset with a knack for engaging content creation.
