Description
Lakeshore Advantage is the economic GPS for West Michigan's Ottawa and Allegan counties—we Grow, Plan, and Solve for a bright economic future. We are a nonprofit economic development organization that was established in 2003 by forward-focused business and community leaders to assist businesses—from startups to established global corporations—as they navigate growth in the lakeshore region.
Responsibilities
Social media & digital communications:
- Assist with social media asset creation and captioning.
- Produce insights from monitoring and reporting social media analytics.
- Research and report back to the team on industry best practices for digital communications.
- Work with the marketing manager to execute website edits and updates.
- Assist with organization of digital assets.
Storytelling:
- Capture and edit feature-style spotlights and case studies on business leaders and entrepreneurs in the region.
- Draft newsletters and press releases.
Events:
- Support execution and marketing of organization events
- Assist with greeting stakeholders at events
- Occasional front desk support
Other Engagement Team duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Enrolled and pursuing a degree in journalism, communications, marketing, hospitality, or related field.
Ability to clearly communicate ideas and work collaboratively on a team.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Personal or professional experience using Microsoft Office suite of applications, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn required.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canvas, WordPress, and Vista Social a plus.
