Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
The Children and Youth Division of Rehabilitation Support Services, Inc. is seeking a Prescriber for its Otsego County Youth ACT Team. (Part-time – 20 hours) with an option to be fulltime with the Otsego County Youth ACT Team
The program will serve youth ages 10-20 years 11 months. The program will provide intensive clinical treatment for youth who had traditionally faced challenges with the current mental health treatment model. Program staff are a team who utilize youth guided, family driven approaches to develop the best strategies and interventions for mental health recovery and wellness.
As a Prescriber you will be responsible for:
- Conducting initial psychiatric evaluation and ongoing medication management for assigned youth, ensuring developmentally appropriate and trauma informed care.
- Collaborate with ACT Team to develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans integrating medical, psychiatric, and psychosocial goals.
- Provide crisis intervention to support youth and families (may include on call hours on a rotating schedule as needed).
- Educate youth and caregivers on psychotropic medications, potential side effects, and adherence strategies.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation consistent with OMH regulations and agency policies.
- Participate in daily team meetings and case consultations to coordinate care and monitor progress.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, schools, and community supports to ensure integrated care.
- Ensure compliance with NYS OMH Youth ACT standards, safety protocols, and agency policies.
*** This position is parttime however if interested the NPP could provide this service for two teams – Otsego and Delaware for a Full-time position with a salary of $154,000.00
Qualifications for this Position:
Currently licensed as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the NYS Education Department.
1 years of experience working with youth and families; preferred
Bi-lingual Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply.
Candidate must have the ability to work with a diverse population. Must have strong communication skills. Knowledge of trauma informed care service delivery will be a plus.
Excellent salary ranging 77k (parttime) 154k (Fulltime) (commensurate with education and experience)
