Sales Engineer

Sales Engineer (Process Manufacturing)

Location: Northeast Iowa (open on location within area)

Arlemax is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in northeast Iowa to identify a Sales Engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and customer collaboration.

This role focuses on helping customers determine whether their product ideas can be successfully produced using the company’s manufacturing processes. The Sales Engineer works closely with internal engineers, quality teams, and operations to evaluate feasibility, develop solutions, and guide projects from early concept through production.

This is an excellent opportunity for chemical engineers or process engineers early in their careers who enjoy solving real manufacturing challenges while working directly with customers.

The position is open due to a planned retirement, providing the opportunity to learn the business and transition existing accounts alongside an experienced team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Work directly with customers to understand product requirements and technical challenges

Evaluate whether internal manufacturing processes can support customer needs

Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to develop production solutions

Prepare proposals and technical recommendations for customers

Support projects from early feasibility discussions through production

Build long-term relationships with customers and help identify new opportunities

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred

Internship, co-op, or early-career experience in process manufacturing or chemical/food production is a plus

Ability to understand and communicate manufacturing processes

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Interest in working with customers and cross-functional engineering teams

Compensation

$75,000 – $100,000 base salary depending on experience

Annual company bonus potential up to 10%
