Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner
ADVANCED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONER - PRN: SATURDAYS
Job Summary: Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health care services to patients and families in accordance with health care plans mutually established by practitioner and patient, and will follow policies, procedures and protocols established by Promise.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtains patient history and perform physical examinations. Diagnose and treats health problems and injuries with a focus on preventive health.
- Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic and acute diseases. Orders and interprets diagnostic studies. Prescribes medications and treatments.
- Provides well child care, including developmental screening and immunizations. Utilizes tools/screening instruments as per FQHC standards of care.
- Designs, implements and evaluates plans of care utilizing sound clinical judgment and assessing physical, psychological, emotional, societal and environmental needs of patients.
- Demonstrates importance of preventive health services through self-care and through teaching/modeling- recommends preventive health measures for patients and families.
- Articulates knowledge of FQHC Health Care measures. Articulates the mission of Promise and seeks opportunities to promote the center’s mission through outreach.
- Provides family planning services in collaboration with members of the health care team and community partners
- Promotes the role of ARNP and Promise through healthy behaviors, lifestyle and self-care skills and through education and counseling.
- Meets required standards in documentation of medical record. Completes timely and essential correspondence, phone calls and dictated letters to patients and referring physicians in keeping with patient centered medical home standards.
- Utilizes the resources of Promise and the surrounding community to benefit patients and families.
- Participates in peer review and constructively works toward improving patient outcomes using evidence-based guidelines; participates in quality improvement activities to improve quality care, patient satisfaction and staff morale.
- Completes and submits charge tickets for daily services; complies with billing process, policies and visit standards necessary to secure 3rd party and patient reimbursement for health care services rendered.
- Attends Promise meetings, in-service offerings and participates in assigned Promise committees and events.
- Meets service productivity and performance standards as per FQHC guidelines.

EDUCATIONÂ AND EXPERIENCE:
- Licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Iowa.
- Graduate of an accredited masters level Nurse Practitioner Program.
- One year of clinical experience recommended. Experience in Community Health Care preferred
- BCS/ACCS/ATLS
- Must have the ability to work as a team member, establishing effective relationships with practice and staff. Must be able to work well with low income populations in a respectful manner.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand for long periods of time.
