Barista/Smoothie Maker

Position Summary

The Barista is responsible for preparing high-quality beverages and food items while delivering exceptional guest service. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, cleanliness, and consistency in all areas of production and customer interaction.

Baristas represent The Beet Box brand and are expected to maintain a positive, energetic presence while operating in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage & Food Preparation

• Accurately prepare all made-to-order items according to company recipes and standards.
• Blend ingredients to achieve proper consistency and taste.
• Customize smoothies and menu items to accommodate dietary restrictions and guest preferences.
• Execute production with minimal waste and high time efficiency.
• Prepare additional menu items including toasts, wraps, smoothie bowls, and wellness shots.

Customer Service

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service.
• Take accurate orders and answer menu-related questions.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly.
• Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

Inventory Management

• Monitor ingredient levels and notify leadership of low stock. 
• Enter and maintain accurate inventory records in XtraCHEF.
• Restock station supplies as needed.
• Rotate inventory to ensure freshness and reduce waste.

Food Safety & Sanitation

• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas regularly.
• Properly store ingredients to prevent spoilage.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.

Payment Handling

• Process payments accurately and efficiently.
• Follow company procedures to minimize errors and discrepancies.

Upselling & Suggestive Selling

• Recommend additional items, add-ons, or upgrades to increase sales.
• Promote daily specials and seasonal offerings.

Cleaning & Maintenance

• Clean and maintain smoothie machines, blenders, and prep areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of all workspaces throughout the shift.
• Assist with general store cleaning duties.

Customer Education

• Provide information about ingredients and health benefits when asked.
• Answer questions regarding dietary restrictions and allergens.
• Offer thoughtful product recommendations.

Accountability & Work Ethic

• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Prioritize responsibilities to maintain productivity.
• Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and professionalism.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to support operational success.

Qualifications

Required

• Previous customer service or food service experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
  
   

Preferred

• Experience in high-volume environments.
• Basic knowledge of nutrition or wellness-based products.
• Familiarity with POS systems.

Work Environment
