Smith Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned canine and feline clinic located in Burnsville, MN. We are a two doctor practice with a mission to provide high quality veterinary care to our patients. SVH is a fast-paced, team focused hospital. If you are a self-starter with tons of drive, we are your clinic! Smith Vet is well equipped utilizing CR, ultrasound, cold laser, chemistry and cbc analyzers. As well, our technicians perform differentials, urinalysis and progesterone testing. 

Job Summary
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting veterinarians in providing medical care to animals. Your responsibilities will include handling, restraining and caring for animals, assisting with medical procedures, assisting the veterinarians, client communication and education and ensuring the well-being of patients. 

Duties
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Administer medications under the direction of a veterinarian
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis

- Client communication

- Proper animal handling and positioning for radiographs
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized animals
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Educate pet owners on animal care and treatment plans
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and treatments
