Human Resources Intern

The Village of Barrington is seeking an undergraduate or graduate-level college student with an interest in Village Administration, Human Resources, and/or Risk Management to join our administrative team this summer. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on municipal Human Resources experience and support an organization that provides service to the community.

The Human Resources/Risk Management Intern performs a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support the overall operations of the HRRM Department, prepares correspondence, reports, maintains departmental records and files, assists with data analysis, and completes special projects as assigned.

Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a High School diploma or equivalent, and must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources, Labor Management, Public Administration, or a related field. Previous experience working with HR documents and/or confidential information is preferred.

The salary is $16 to $18 per hour, depending on qualifications.  The schedule is up to 40 hours per week, with some flexibility on days and hours, between May-August. The position will not exceed twelve (12) weeks.  There are no benefits associated with this temporary position.
