Central Jersey College Prep Charter School (CJCP) is a tuition-free, public charter school in Somerset, New Jersey serving grades Kindergarten through 12th. CJCP first opened in 2006 with 77 students, and is now serving a diverse population of over 1,300 students and nearly 300 faculty and staff. Hiring for School Year 2026-2027

World Language Teacher

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Provide language instruction to students at various educational levels, encouraging language proficiency, cultural awareness, appreciation, and understanding.
  • Teach world language skills to students, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for World Languages, combine technology to enhance learning.
  • Evaluate student progress through various assessments, providing feedback to students and parents.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, productive learning environment that supports learning and respect.
  • Work with other educators and support staff to support student learning and participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Engage in ongoing professional growth opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and curriculum developments. 

Essential Duties:

  • Communicates responsibly with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and school leadership;
  • Accounts for student attendance and punctuality;
  • Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures;
  • Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities;

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent;
  • Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communication;
  • Integrates appropriate technology into classroom instruction;
  • Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven communication and instructional strategies;
  • Classroom management skills;
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing;
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Valid NJ CE, CEAS, or Standard Teacher Certification;
  • NJ Criminal History;
  • Work authorization in the U.S.;
  • Tuberculosis Test;
  • Experience is a plus.

Salary Starting: $57,000.00 per year
